Found a sundering axehaft 10/7 recently, now I wonder if its any use?

You can use it on a sword if you do not want to buy one higher than that.

But do not bother selling anything less than 10/9 or lower than 18%

The price check forum has price guides for mods and tells you what mods to not bother selling

sundering sucks, but because 96% of people are idiots a 10/9 or higher can sell for an ok amount
